Pickled Pigs Feet

Sorry, couldn't think of a better title.

We had a low crowd last night as several teens were vacating or had family in town. To all of you still out of town, WE MISSED YOU!! Our band sans Michael Velie (guitarist) led us in worship with 4 songs, 3 which were written by our very own Haley Heath. I spoke on “Serving our way to Greatness.” I used the story of Jonathon laying down everything that was rightfully his to serve the call on David’s life. Everyone is called to greatness but greatness doesn’t look the same for everyone. David reached his place of greatness because Jonathon was “Great” in how he served David. I emphasized to the teens that we are all called to serve if we are to ever achieve the fullness of God’s purpose in our life.

Thank you to all of you who brought your teenagers to help with re-facing the FlipSide room. We had a huge turnout and were able to finish a day under schedule.

This Saturday, August 4th, we will be leaving the church at 7:30am to volunteer with the Brigade Boys & Girls Club. We will be partnering with 300 other volunteers around Wilmington to help build a playground for children of the community. We will be working from 8am – 2pm and breakfast and lunch will be provided. Please make an effort to bring your teen to this event. This is a great opportunity to serve our community.

Love ya,
Matthew
