uh...fried cheese sticks

Greetings Parental Units,

Happy Official-first-day-of-Summer! Last night I spoke about having confidence in our identity in Christ. Luke 6:6-11 tells the story of Jesus teaching on the Sabbath day to a crowd of intent listeners as well as skeptical Pharisees. On hearing the thoughts of the Pharisees, Jesus discovers that they are there to see if He will heal on the Sabbath. So He basically interrupts His message to confront the Pharisees thoughts and brings up a guy with a withered hand and heals him in front of everyone. Because of the confidence Jesus had in who He was in Christ, He had no problem confronting the atmosphere in the room. I shared with the teens the importance of strengthening our identity in Christ so that we are better able to confront the world.
